How does it work for you?
All drivers are different.

When you register and become a CDL-USA member you will see a list of coaching packages to choose from. Pick any package or module. All of them are self-paced, short, online coaching sessions that will get you started on your short term and long-term goals.

By deciding what is most important to you in your first job and during your career, you'll know when to look, where to look, and what to look for and not waste time on non-matching jobs or carriers. It is possible to have several good "contingent" job offers before you start CDL school, during school, and right after. Simple charts, articles, activities, and multiple-choice preferences such as type of pay, amount of pay, geographic preference, home time, veteran status, experience, safety record, interest in "pipeline" (available in the future) *special project positions with a carrier, type of trucking preference (reefer, flatbed, boats, tankers, hazmat, cattle, glass, oil, ice roads, combat or other specialty), automatic, 12 speed, pets, and other preferred filters will let you know the many options that are out there. This will help you clarify your priorities before selecting from at least three offers who come close to your requirements.

If you haven't picked a CDL school and haven't paid for it, reviewing the coaching packages will save you a lot of time and money. If you're already enrolled and attending, review the coaching packages for options on tuition reimbursement upon completion. Finish CDL school if you're already enrolled and continue any current contractual arrangements. All CDL-USA participating members, regardless of employer, will have free access to all services provided by CDL-USA.

It is possible to have a job lined up and your CDL School paid for before you even start. But this takes early planning, follow through, caution and commitment to prevent being totally screwed over.

*Special Projects
CDL-USA member participants will have access to a list of all special projects as well as regular available positions different carriers are offering in the Job Vault. If a driver is interested and willing to participate in a special project, the driver will be put on a list of interested drivers and when a predetermined number of drivers are willing to commit, the carrier will be notified. The interested drivers will be given the carrier's contact information and the drivers' names will be given to the carrier. The carrier will then proceed as they normally do with a CDL-USA driver.
